The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic lay organization which brings men and women together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the poor.
Our St. Denis group was established in 1983 at the encouragement of our administrator at the time, Rev. Bob Gauthier. Fr. Gauthier taught us that if we were doing God’s work, funds would become available; that has always been found to be true.
Donations are provided by parishioners and community members and as stewards we carefully manage their trust placed in us by dispensing funds judiciously. Donations may be placed in the offertory baskets at Mass or delivered to the Rectory.
The work we do is completely confidential. We are here to assist individuals through difficult financial times, using our resources or providing information to another source of asssistance. There is wide diversity in our charitable work. Our mission is to help the poor. Requests are handled person to person as committee members will visit and establish a relationship with those requesting assistance and determine a positive course of action. We recognize the difficulty of being on the receiving end of help, and feel we are privileged to be able to offer financial assistance.
We rely on referrals from many community resources such as the school guidance departments, the police department and concerned individuals and have a dedicated phone number at (978) 790-1923. If you become aware of anyone in need of financial assistance please contact us. Be our eyes and ears.
Desire for assisting the poor, developing spiritual growth and a community vision. The ability to listen, share ideas and work cooperatively with other committee members. A strict adherence to confidentiality and prayerful reflection on requests are all significant requirements for membership.
If you would be interested in joining St. Vincent de Paul, please contact our parish priest for consideration.
