The Finance Council assists the pastor/administrator to develop the parish annual budget, monitor the overall finances of the parish, and assist by offering financial and management advice.
All Finance Council activities are to follow guidelines created by the Diocese of Worcester. Monthly Reports are required for the Parish Council and a yearly financial summary report is provided to the entire Parish.
Canon 537 of the Code of Canon Law states, “Each parish is to have a finance council which is regulated by universal law as well as by norms issued by the diocesan bishop.” The council is consultative, it advises the pastor/administrator. The pastor/administrator has the ultimate responsibility to make the final decision covering the parish temporalities.

St. Denis’ Finance Council consists of 3 individuals appointed by the pastor/administrator. The council meets regularly with the pastor/administrator to carry out its mission.
