The service of our altar servers to Immaculate Conception is a serious responsibility, and the community is very grateful for their sacrifice of time and talent.
It is a very great honor to be an altar server at the Lord’s altar for any Mass. The altar server helps the priest in those things which he does at the altar during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and other liturgical events. The server also sets a good example to the whole congregation, since he/she is highly visible and able to help the people in church to also be reverent. Many vocations to the priesthood and religious life have come from young men and women serving the priest at the altar.

The Mass is a sacred meal called the Eucharist (from the Greek word meaning thanksgiving). At Mass, we give thanks for all that God has done for us, and we all eat the same food ‐‐ “the bread of life and the cup of the eternal salvation.”
Any youngster wishing to find out more about the life of an Altar Server can contact the parish offices or ask after Mass to your parish priest or deacon.
